INK - COLDPLAY
The concept was derived from the original thought-process behind the song - how one person can develop unhealthy actions upon the loss of a loved one. This idea was then developed into a story about the tragic life and influential relationships of a drug addict. Much like the desperation of a person in love, the lead role starts off in a healthy, loving relationship but soon loses said love due to his abusive habits. He tries to hold onto the high that love provided through the use of drugs, and in turn replaces the relationship with his wife with that of an enabler. At a low point of this new relationship the two "friends" kill an innocent bystander, who in turn is a friend of the original wife. This concept is grounded by the use of tattoos. Tattoos can often represent change or a turning point in a persons life, thus solidifying the change in the lead character.
